Why You Need Eye Exercises
Quick, think of a short list of the essential things you can do to live a healthy and comfortable life. Finished? I am willing to bet the farm that eye exercises wasn’t part of that list right? Understandably, most of us never even knew such an activity existed. But in today’s world where our eyes are barraged and over taxed daily, exercising our eyes are more important than ever.
Let’s take awhile and see which among the tech advances of our generation are to blame with causing deteriorating eye sight. Perhaps one of the more guilty ones is the use of television. How many times as a child were you told that watching too much television, or too close to it, can cause you to wear glasses when you get older? More times than we care to remember I bet, but the fact still remains. A lot of people nowadays wear glasses and it being a coincidence with the sudden rise of television viewers is too much now is it?
Another main cause for eye degradation is one of the most classic examples, remember the reading tips? I am sure even your grandparents heard this from their parents. That is, reading in poor light. Now, reading per se is not harmful of course, but reading in poor light or against the light can cause massive strain on your eyes that can cause some problems like having to wear glasses. Problems we can remedy using proper eye exercises.
And now we go to computers. If you ask around, you will surely find that more than 90% of the people you know use computers on a daily basis. This is because more and more businesses now use computers to help their business. Even jobs that are seemingly labor related, they still have to log in every once in a while to computers. Then there’s the surge in popularity of social networks, which expose more people to the dangers of using the computer more than what is healthy. Let’s not go to the case of cellphones as well. Almost everyone has one, and everyday people look at those tiny screens to read messages or make calls. These all add up to more and more people having eyesight problems. I haven’t even mentioned the other gadgets that start to encroach on our daily lives like GPS devices and MP3 players. Granted mostly young people use these stuff, but that makes it more alarming to know. Imagine, all our kids today growing up having to wear glasses?
So what do all these show? Well, it just gives an idea on how much eye exercise is needed in today’s world if we all want to have healthy and sharp eyes. Sure some ailments are genetic, but some can be prevented. Which we want to do really. BY learning and practicing the basics of eye exercises, we may prevent our need for glasses or contact lenses. So before it is too late, try to learn the right eye exercise for the life you lead. It just takes a few minutes of your times, but the benefits of it will last years. Less migraines and headaches too!
